Thank you for the response. I know that the old EOP form had the language which gave rights to the holder, however, when it was revised in 2006, the following statement now appears at the top of the form. This was why I was confused as to the difference between the 28 and the 24.
From ACORD 28 (07/2006) Evidence of Commercial Property:
THIS EVIDENCE OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTY INSURANCE IS ISSUED AS A MATTER OF INFORMATION ONLY AND CONFERS NO RIGHTS UPON
THE ADDITIONAL INTEREST NAMED BELOW. THIS EVIDENCE OF COMMERCIAL PROPERTY INSURANCE DOES NOT AMEND, EXTEND OR
ALTER THE COVERAGE AFFORDED BY THE POLICIES BELOW.
From ACORD 24 (01/1995) Certificate of Property Insurance:
THIS CERTIFICATE IS ISSUED AS A MATTER OF INFORMATION ONLY AND CONFERS NO RIGHTS UPON THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER. THIS CERTIFICATE DOES NOT AMEND, EXTEND OR ALTER THE COVERAGE AFFORDED BY THE POLICIES BELOW.
So, I guess I'm still confused as to what the difference is.
I actually have never used the Certificate of Property Insurance. I've only used the EOP because I'm usually providing information for a mortgagee or loss payee.
